21/07/2006 Woodland View pupils design the newly formed Village Cricket Club Badge

Did you know that Grange Park has a new village cricket team? Not only are GPCC well into their first season in the South Northants League but they are doing extremely well and are currently 2nd in their division and looking for promotion next season! Earlier this year GPCC approached Mr. Thomas, headmaster of the Woodland View School to see whether his pupils would like to enter a competition to design the new club crest. GPCC were very pleased when Mr. Thomas said yes and soon the club was presented with over 20 imaginative and exciting entries to which the GPCC committee had the very difficult task of choosing a winner and a runner up. During June Mark Everitt of GPCC attended a prize giving service to present prizes to the winners. Jamie Wakefield was the runner up and Grace Hughes’ design was chosen as the winner. Here is Grace with Jamie collecting their awards accompanied by Mr Thomas, Headmaster and Mark Everitt from Grange Park Cricket Club. If you can see Graces’ design on the website in the top right corner.  Well done Grace
